Evaporative-Cooling Vests
Evaporative-cooled vests use water to cool workers. Cooling effectiveness is based on ambient air temperature as compared to insert-cooled vests which cool to the same temperature regardless of ambient temperature. Evaporative-cooled vests do not cool as effectively as insert-cooled vests in high-humidity where the water in the vest takes longer to evaporate. They also don’t cool effectively when worn under full suits that don’t allow air to circulate around the body.
